When the Española Valley Humane Society approached me with the need to help boost donations I walked them through adding new donation methods and streamlining the existing system. Adding a shopping cart where they can sell goods and services, as well as adding a Volunteer signup calendar. Using these new tools the Española Valley Humane Society can reach out to more animals and help find them loving homes and families. This is just another example of how I can help your organization or company succeed in its missions and goals.
When Don first came to Chris McIntosh Designs he had the impression that using a database driven website would be too complicated for him and would make it so that he could not easily update the site. His old site was built on older html technologies and was difficult to update. Chris McIntosh Designs walked Don through how he could use Drupal and Ubercart to take and process credit card payments through his bank. We worked in conjunction with his bank and built a new payment gateway module for Ubercart to connect to the myVirtualMerchant, Elavon's, online credit card processing service.
We utilized SSL to secure his clients payment information and make the transfer of that information safe for their purchases. Another big step in his new site was automating the Software activation process. Before Don had to process emails from his clients and provide them with the correct activation code. It was cumbersome and hard to keep track of old activations. With Don's new site the customers can log into their account and activate the software when they are ready to. Keeping in step with the trend of making life easier for the software developer.
I was approached some time ago to build a website that would allow this church group to post and share stories and products with others over the Internet. They needed something that looked good, had a great impact, and also was easy to manage and maintain. For this I build a custom CMS for them to use. It was limited in its power, but was what they needed to make it easy for them to understand how to make their site work for them. The system uses a PHP, and mySQL for the back-end administration and Dojo interface for the front end and the Content Management System. Combining the technologies in a way that it is simple, intuitive and simple to use for both administration of the website and the visitors to their site. I also spent time to explain several ways that they can perform Search Engine Optimization that would help the website design that I put in place grow and become stronger. This is just another example of how Chris McIntosh as a website designer has helped the community and has moved the envelope further for the Internet technologies. All Blown Up Inflatables is a Newburgh, In based inflatable rental company. Their old site was hard to update and looked dead, giving them a poor image to new customers. I built them a Drupal Based site that is Search Engine Optimized and allows them to add/edit/remove items through a simple Web-based interface. Being a web master could never be easier than with a site that has been built by Chris McIntosh Deisngs. We pride ourselves on giving the best possible service we can to our clients. Candace is a C|Net Journalist and writes for several of their articles. She needed to have a Website so that she could post articles and links back to her articles on C|Net. She also needed a place that she could maintain a blog and share some of the pictures of places that she has been.
I built the site using a stadard Drupal installation, including views and a slideshow module that would help her by rotating her gallery images on the front page. This keeps her front page always fresh and with new material. Being as busy as she is I also included a feature that allows her to write her content or add her articles ahead of time, but only publish them on the scheduled date. This is an extremely useful feature for online journalists and also for any business who has seasonal content that they want to rotate on their site.
